The 2010 HYC club cruise has begun. Our intrepid cruisers are heading out to Block Island to get away from it all, but that doesn't mean they've left their laptops, smart-phones, and other internet enabled gadgets behind. As they email back reports of where they are and what they're up to, we'll be posting them here so those who stayed behind can share in the adventure. If we get lucky, maybe we'll get a few photos to post.

One of Harlem's traditional favorites. No excuses about not being able to find crew! We usually run the J/24s in one division and everybody else in another, but we'll create whatever divisions make sense when we see who shows up.

RC Flags
The 2010 racing season got off to a fine start with eight boats competing in two divisions. Sunny skies and a fine southerly made for excellent sailing.

The race committee set up near the Big Tom buoy. Winds were about 10 kts, oscillating over about 30 degrees in a generally south or south-westerly direction. Both divisions were sent on a 5 nm course to the EBYRA "J" mark. Keeping with HYC tradition, a fairly long line was set. The RC was looking to ensure clean starts for all competitors, and a minimum of salty vocabulary within earshot of the committee boat.
