Information For Visitors
We are on the west side of City Island, at the top of Eastchester Bay. Our sheltered location makes HYC the perfect staging location for boats heading into Long Island Sound or down the East River to New York Harbor. The clubhouse is within walking distance of a supermarket, laundry, several hardware stores, two sail lofts, outboard engine repair shops, and other businesses catering to the marine trade. See http://hyc.org/directions for detailed directions to the club.
Dockage and Moorings
We have guest moorings up to 1000 lbs available for visiting yachts. You may arrange for a mooring by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, by calling the launch house at 718-885-3235, or by hailing the launch operator. “Harlem Launch” monitors VHF 72 (see the launch hours below). Please do not anchor in the mooring field.
Our overnight guest fee is $35.00. Weekly rates are available upon request. Your fee covers a mooring, use of our launch service, dinghy dock, and the club's facilities. A mooring is complimentary for lunch or dinner guests.
Fresh water and ice are available at the dock. There is a half hour limit for tie ups. Check with the launch staff before approaching the docks to make sure the dock is free, and the tide cycle will accommodate your draft.
The club provides launch service seven days a week from the mooring field to our dock for members and guests. Launch hours vary day of the week and by season. See http://hyc.org/marine for details.
Restaurant and Bar
The club has a full service restaurant and bar. Visiting yachts are welcome to join us for lunch, dinner, or a drink (proper attire required). The clubhouse is open Wednesday through Sunday. Hours vary during the season; see http://hyc.org/restaurant for more information.
The club has men’s and women’s locker rooms with shower facilities. Visiting yachts can obtain a combination for 24-hour access to the locker rooms from the launch operator upon your arrival.
The club provides wireless internet access (WiFi) to visiting yachts free of charge. Obtain the network name and password from the launch operator upon your arrival.
