New: Junior Sailing Camp for Summer 2021!

Updated: Mar 11, 2021

We are pleased to announce that HYC will offer a Junior Sailing program in June and July 2021. The program will be open to children ages 8 to 17. The Junior sailors will be sailing Optimist, Bic Open, Pixel and Laser boats. Instructors and all boats will be provided by Port Sailing School.

The instructors assigned to our club have two years' prior experience successfully running Echo Bay Yacht Club's Junior program. (They'll wear Harlem Yacht Club shirts and use chase boats to coach the kids on the water.)

There are full-day and half-day programs. The full-day sessions will operate on weekdays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with early drop off available at 8:30 a.m.. Half-day programs run 9 a.m. to noon. Parents or guardians can enroll online through the Harlem Yacht Club website, which will lead you to a Port Sailing page for the HYC sessions. All children will need to bring their lunches, a vest-type life jacket, and a neck gaiter. When 6-foot social distance cannot be maintained, neck gaiters must be worn as masks. Due to the pandemic the children will not be using the club house.

Junior Sailing Program Session Dates

Session 1- June 28 to July 9

Session 2- July 12 to 23

The program is open to the public, but members receive a 15% discount off the enrollment fee. When enrolling online, use promotional code HYC15. The two-week full-day session fee is $1495 less club discount. Members save $224.25!

Best to all our members and friends with youngsters in their families!
