Rendezvous at Oyster Bay, July 11-12
HYC boats will rendezvous in Oyster Bay on Saturday, July 11 to Sunday, July 12. Skippers can sail their own boats. Other members can hitch a boat-ride or come overland by car to Oyster Bay. To hitch a ride, reach out to a skipper you know. For example, a new social member is sailing with Fleet Captain Roger Karlebach on the boat ILENE, and he and the human Ilene have room for one more. We'll add info about who is open to passengers here. Here are the basics: Boats enter Oyst

Two Ways to Go Sailing at HYC If You Don't Own a Boat
We're adding more ways for Intermediate and Social members to get out on the water. For years, HYC's Old Salts afternoons have given members and non-members weekday opportunities to sail on members' boats and then socialize at the Clubhouse. Now, the Sailing Ambassador program gives HYC members--especially Social and Intermediate members--a chance to go sailing on weekends, as well. Congratulations to Paul Beaudin and the crew of loulou, who swept the J/105 division of the Lloyd Harbor Yacht Club's season-opening Race for the Case (the case, in this case, being a case of rum). loulou finished first in every contest of the May 30-31, four-race series, besting five other J/105s in the biggest of the regatta's three divisions. Well done, loulou.
