HYC's 'loulou', CIYC's 'Chaika', Huguenot's 'Impulse' Take Class Honors in 2026 Big Tom City Island Cup Regatta

Congratulations to the winners of the Big Tom City Island Cup Regatta, sailed on Saturday, June 13.

Chaika (the Taylor 34 sailed by City Island Yacht Club's Rick Coar) took home the City Island Cup in the premier Spiinnaker Class Two series, sweeping all three races.

The Huguenot Yacht Club's Impulse (Lee Di Iorio's O'Day 39) took home the Harlem Cup in the Non-Spinnaker Class, with a 1-2-1 record.

And the Harlem Yacht Club's J/105 loulou (with Paul Beaudin at the helm) won the honors in the low-PHRF Spinnaker Class One, 1-2-1.

The 16-boat field raced in light air that started easterly at 5 mph, then swung to the north at 3 mph, before finally moving to the west and picking up to 9 mph by 3 p.m.
